About Me

I landed my first gig out of college as Assistant Director of Main Street Plymouth, Inc. Within a couple of months I was called in front of the Board of Directors and offered the Executive Director position.

A Main Street Program is a part economic development, community planning, downtown revitalization, and business group. Essentially it is much like a non member-based Chamber of Commerce for the downtown district. Because of the broad nature of this position I was able to develop my skill set including:

  • Grant Writing - secured $50,000 for building rehab
  • Creative Direct Mail - Expanded donor base 50%
  • Ordinance Creation - Successfully wrote new zoning ordinance
  • Fundraising events - Black tie, concerts, community based
  • Public Speaking - Events from 1 to 500 people
  • Project Management - Building facade rehab
  • Public Relations - Dozens of published press releases
  • Writing - Weekly "Main Street Buzz" column for two years

My first project used my experience building and maintaining websites to launch the organizations new website. The website development process led to starting a successful web marketing series aimed at providing the local business owners with the knowledge they needed to maximize their own online web presence.

As the web marketing series grew, business owners would come up to me and say "I just don't have time to manage this". Soon they were hiring me to develop and execute their online strategy, which turned full-time when I started Local Web Studio. For the next couple of years I developed campaigns around maximizing my clients online visibility, with emphasis on local search (local SEO, geo-targeted PPC, reputation management, Facebook advertising (on Facebook?), and email marketing).

In the spring of 2009 an opportunity came along to do Search Marketing for some of the largest brands in the world. I picked up and moved to Mass and here I am developing search strategy for Procter & Gamble brands at Catalyst Online.
